It's 2012!!! Can you believe it? I'm not sure that I have totally wrapped my head around it yet. Weren't we suppose to have flying cars and transporters by now? LOL I'll just have to get over that. ;) We DO have great music and more opportunities than ever before and we here at KGJ already have big, BIG plans!
It's time to get the in-studio work done for the new CD project (Bliss) so keep your eyes open for how YOU can join in this amazing adventure. Feb 1 will be the kickoff date for the final fund push and I am so excited to share this journey with you. I have been blessed beyond measure at the love and support you have been giving. You amaze me. Thank you. :)
I am ready for a busy, busy February and am really excited to announce that I will be returning (at your request - thank you) to Gourmet Goat in Hagerstown, Md for 2 shows! It's also Valentine's month...ahhhhh...so romantic (Men: a great opportunity for brownie points here - make sure to check which venue will woo your honey and get your reservations made today).
Also, don't forget to order your Valentine Serenade. I will be delivering the 12-14th, but I have limited slots available and you must be within 30 miles of Waynesboro, Pa. Only $30 with a song of your choice (from my song list), a handmade valentine with your personalized message, and trio of roses for your love. Welcome to Fall!!! The leaves are changing, the weather is beginning to cool and I am ready to enjoy everything that fall has to offer. Coffee, pie, cider & nights spent under the stars at the fire pit..... ahhh..... these are just some of the things that make me LOVE fall!
One of the great things we have on the calendar is our Fall house concert here at "Gray Manor". We are SO excited to introduce some young Baltimore talent to our little corner of the world. Amanda Bloom, vocalist and Zachary Swanson, upright bass. I heard this wonderful duo at Silver Maple in Frederick (my FAVE place!!) and was so impressed that I just had to make them the next house concert experience. I really can't wait for you to hear them for yourselves - so put Oct 16 on your calendar now and rsvp right away - remember that house concerts have limited seating - email kerensa@kernesagray.com to reserve and I'll send you details!

Also, I've been getting many requests to return to Highline Coffeehouse and Cafe in Greencastle and we are thrilled to announce that you can catch KGJ there for First Friday's Oct 7 at 6:30. We're helping Highline and Kim celebrate their 1 year anniversary; so bring your party attitude!!
More great news - If you are excited to jump in to the holiday wagon, you will NOT want to miss Oct 29 at Silver Maple in Frederick, Md. I will not spoil any surprises, but Chef Routzahn is going all out to celebrate halloween weekend. Make your reservations NOW! Really, there is some fun, fun stuff planned with yours truly playing your jazz favorites mixed in with fun and spooky tunes as well. I think I'm even gonna dress up!! :)

Greetings KGJ family! We FINALLY got a little rain here in drought PA so we are off to a great looking weekend! I don't have much time today, but I wanted to make sure you were kept in the loop as to upcoming shows and "going ons"...
For those who have missed the boat on this one -- my amazing keyboard player John Rivero will be leaving August 7 (this weekend!!!!!) to return to his roots in Alaska. I am deeply saddened to see him go, though I know that he is leaving to be with family, so I send him with all the love and blessings I can bestow. That being said, please come out and show your love this weekend if you are anywhere in the area. Let's send him off overwhelmed with love!
The leaving of John being so soon, I would ask that you please lift up KGJ as we seek a new keyboard player. It is a special relationship between a singer and her keys and we are looking for the person God has set aside for us.

It's been a while since I've actually sat in one place long enough to throw down a blog, but I have become so enamored with a new venue in Frederick, Md - The Silver Maple Restaurant & Wine Bar - that I just had to share it with you!
We have done 2 shows there thus far and are looking forward to a continuing relationship. It's summer so we've been overjoyed to be bringing music under the stars on the Patio. I sure hope the weather holds long into fall this year because the atmosphere on the patio when the sun begins to set is just amazing. And if that were not enough, the cuisine is out of this world and the wine selection is painstakingly brilliant!
We also really, really love the proprietor and Executive Chef - Jason Routzhan. He is a wonderful host, with a true gift for making everyone feel right at home.
So. please, PLEASE make Silver Maple a stop on your dining / Jazz tour schedule. We'll be back Aug 6 and suggest that you begin making reservations NOW! You will love everything about this venue.
Oh, and if Chef drops by your table, make sure to ask for a peek at his ever too cute Bulldog! ;) (A man who cooks AND loves the furries -- look out ladies!)
